In the framework of the mission on child safety, the International Agency for Assistance and Work for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) stated that it was compelled to evacuate three more schools in East Jerusalem.
The evacuation occurred after Israeli armed forces conducted raids and arrests in buildings used by UNRWA. The organization noted that these actions endanger the safety of children and personnel and also violate recent agreements between UNRWA and Israel.
"We are disappointed and saddened by these recent evacuations, which have left more than 1,000 Palestinian children without access to education. We call on the parties to adhere to the agreements and respect the neutrality of our institutions," reads the statement from UNRWA.
