Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed his position on Monday regarding the attack against Iranian military targets, emphasizing that "light will overcome darkness." This refers to the "Axis of Resistance" led by Iran, which includes groups such as Hezbollah, the Houthis, and Hamas, among others.
During a tribute in the Knesset (Israeli Parliament) to those killed on October 7 and amidst the ongoing war in Gaza, Netanyahu stated that the branches of terrorism in the region, led by Iran, seek to extinguish the resurgence promoted by Israel over generations. In a determined tone, the Prime Minister stressed that light will prevail over darkness, good over evil, and life over death.
In a symbolic gesture, Netanyahu and his wife Sara laid the first stone of a new monument to the deceased. Additionally, the Israeli leader addressed the families of the 97 hostages still in Gaza, emphasizing that victory in the Gaza war means the return of all those abducted, whether alive or deceased, to Israel.
As negotiations continue after five months of stagnation, Netanyahu reiterated the commitment to achieve victory and recover all the abducted individuals. Meanwhile, a group advocating for an agreement for the release of hostages in Gaza reported that 38 families are still waiting to be able to bury their loved ones with dignity.
For his part, Egyptian President Abdelfatah al-Sisi announced a proposal to implement a 48-hour ceasefire in Gaza. The initiative contemplates that Hamas will release four Israeli hostages in exchange for the release of an indefinite number of Palestinian prisoners.
