On Tuesday, the Israeli emergency service announced the deaths of two people in the northern part of the country due to shelling from the territory of Lebanon. The Israeli army stated: "Sirens were heard in several areas of central Israel following shelling from Lebanon." Sirens sounded on Tuesday in Tel Aviv along the coastline and in several cities in the center of Israel, as reported by a correspondent from the France-Presse agency. One of the medics noted: "A rocket fell on a warehouse... We conducted medical examinations of two men (around the age of sixty), who were in critical condition and with serious injuries... Unfortunately, their injuries were critical, and after examination, we had to announce their deaths." The Israeli army later reported that a rocket was fired from Lebanon into northern Israel, in response to which they launched airstrikes on targets in southern Lebanon. Specialists expressed concerns about a possible escalation of the situation at the border between Israel and Lebanon.
