
A soldier from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) lost his life and three others were seriously injured in two separate incidents in the Gaza Strip. According to the IDF, their armored forces killed more than 40 Hamas militants during operations in the Rafah area, in southern Gaza, over the weekend.
The deceased soldier was identified as G'haleb Sliman Alnasasra, a 35-year-old scout from the Bedouin city of Rahat, in southern Israel. Another scout and two female soldiers were injured in the attack that occurred in Beit Hanoun, in northern Gaza.
According to reports from Israel's Channel 12 News, Hamas militants fired an RPG at IDF forces from a tunnel, wounding the two soldiers. Subsequently, a rescue force was deployed in the area and faced an attack with an explosive device after approximately 30 minutes.
