The Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, announced on Sunday that Israel is ready to resume military operations in the Gaza sector "at any moment," emphasizing the need to achieve the objectives of the war "through negotiations or other means." "In Gaza, we have destroyed the majority of the organized forces of HAMAS, but we must fully achieve the goals of the war, be it through negotiations or other means," Netanyahu noted at a ceremony during the release of officers in the Holon area on live broadcast.
"We are ready to resume intensive combat operations at any moment; our operational plans are ready," Netanyahu added. It was announced that the ceasefire came into effect on January 19, after more than 15 months since the start of the war, which began on October 7/8, 2023.
