Two Deaths in Israel from Missile Strike

Two Chinese construction workers were killed in Yehud by a missile strike. The Israeli Army emphasizes the importance of following safety instructions amid ongoing attacks.

Two Deaths in Israel from Missile Strike

The Israeli Army Command published a statement noting that while these projectiles contain less explosive material than a standard missile, the impact can be lethal. Therefore, caution and compliance with the instructions of the Home Front Command, the military unit responsible for the security of the civilian population, are crucial. It was precisely a projectile of these characteristics that caused the deaths of two people after impacting on Monday in Yehud, a locality near Israel's Ben Gurion Airport (central Israel). The victims were two construction workers of Chinese origin who, according to the Army, did not seek shelter with their colleagues after hearing the sirens. Following the impact, one was declared dead at the scene, while the other was taken to the hospital and died this morning from his injuries. The official guidelines of the Home Front Command, which are expected to remain in effect at least until Saturday night, allow gatherings of up to 50 people and the return to workplaces as long as they have a nearby air-raid shelter. Until yesterday, the last time fatal casualties were reported in Israel from Iranian missiles was on March 1, when a projectile fell in a synagogue in the town of Beit Shemesh, near Jerusalem, killing nine people. The day before, another victim was reported in Tel Aviv from a missile hitting a residential building. The alarms have not stopped sounding during all the days of war in Israel, with greater intensity now in the north - where Hezbollah attacks are added - and in the center of the country. Nearly half of the Iranian missiles fired at Israel since the start of their offensive alongside the U.S. have been cluster munitions, an Israeli military official told EFE on Tuesday. This type of missile is characterized by carrying submunitions that scatter small bomblets in the air, creating a greater risk of injury from shrapnel. Their impact range, according to Israeli Army sources, is about ten kilometers.
