Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed on Friday that Israeli armed forces carried out a series of airstrikes in northern Syria. The strikes were in response to the launch of four rockets into Israeli territory, which were intercepted by the country's air defense system. Netanyahu stated that Israel would continue to take action to protect its territory and citizens. "We consider it important to protect the sovereignty of Israel and the safety of our citizens, therefore we will continue to act decisively against any threat," Netanyahu said, adding that Israeli armed forces struck targets in northern Syria, including weapons storage, military infrastructure, and equipment belonging to Iran. During the airstrikes, stockpiles of rockets intended for attacks on Israel were destroyed. Netanyahu emphasized that Israel would not allow Iran to strengthen its position at the border and will counter any attempts to attack its territory.
