The Iranian-backed militant group Hamas revealed on Friday the names of four hostages who are supposedly set to be released on Saturday as part of a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip. Although Israel has not officially confirmed the identities of the hostages, Sky News reported that the released individuals will be Karina Ariev, Daniella Gilboa, Naama Levy, and Liri Albag. These four young women were shown in a video being abducted, with bloodied faces, eight months after the attack on October 7, 2023.
The planned release will occur in exchange for the freedom of dozens of Palestinians held in Israeli prisons or detention centers. Relatives of the hostages still held captive in Gaza urged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to ensure the release of all remaining hostages, and also requested U.S. President Donald Trump to maintain pressure on Hamas to facilitate their release.
The hostages to be released include Karina Ariev, Daniella Gilboa, Naama Levy, and Liri Albag, who were identified by the Hamas group. The release, scheduled for Saturday, will take place in exchange for the freedom of Palestinian prisoners detained in Israel.
