According to a statement from the Israeli Prime Minister's office, as part of a ceasefire agreement, Israel has decided not to allow Gazans to move to the north of the Gaza Strip until Arbel Yehud, a civilian expected to be released today, is freed.
Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, spokesperson for the Israeli military, stated that Hamas has breached its commitment to first release the female civilian hostages. He emphasized that the release of four Israeli soldiers (women) has already taken place as part of the second prisoner exchange outlined in the ceasefire agreement that began on January 19.
On the other hand, Hamas had communicated through the press that, according to the terms of the agreement, the Israeli army was supposed to allow Palestinians from the south of the Gaza Strip to move north via the Netzarim corridor, which is controlled by the Israeli army.
It has been noted that Israel has conditioned the return of displaced Palestinians to northern Gaza on the release of a female hostage, Arbel Yehud. Hamas leaders confirmed to a French media outlet that the woman is in good health and will be released in the next prisoner exchange.
In this context, the terrorist organization has warned about possible repercussions in future stages of the agreement due to delays in the release of Arbel Yehud.
