Israel Expands Anti-Terror Operation to Tamun

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the expansion of their operation against terrorist organizations in northern West Bank to the town of Tamun, in the Tubas governorate. Last week, an Israeli airstrike with a drone resulted in the death of at least 10 Palestinian terrorists in this region.

Soldiers from the Bislamach Brigade entered Tamun and so far have found several weapons of war, including an M-16 assault rifle and ammunition, according to a military spokesperson.

"At the moment, the forces have found combat equipment," the military spokesman stated. Israel began the operation on January 21 in the former "refugee camp" of Jenin, now a neighborhood called "Iron Wall," and then expanded to the Tulkarem area.

Yesterday, Saturday, the IDF carried out three airstrikes against Palestinian terrorists, including a cell that was about to carry out an immediate attack. In the attack, two terrorists were killed, Salah Zakarneh and Abd al Hadi Kamil, the latter having been released in a hostage exchange for Israeli captives in 2023.

The operation, which is expected to last for months, takes place after more than a month of attacks by the Palestinian Authority's security forces against the terrorist organizations in Jenin, close to Hamas. Defense Minister Israel Katz has warned that the IDF will remain in the "refugee camp" even after the operation concludes.
