Israeli Prime Minister Omri Yuster confirmed that "no heavy equipment" will be allowed to enter the Gaza Strip through the Rafah border crossing with Egypt.
This statement was made after the Austrian channel ORF reported that the movement of heavy equipment in Gaza, such as bulldozers, was permitted under the agreement between Israel, Egypt, and the United Nations.
"We were clear that there will be no concessions for deliveries that could be redirected, such as heavy equipment. And this will remain in force," emphasized Yuster.
This statement was prompted by concerns that the transfer of heavy equipment to Gaza could strengthen the military wing of the Palestinian Hamas movement.
