Hostage Families Demand Immediate Release

A 46-year-old man of Argentine origin, Iair Horn, has been released this Saturday along with two other hostages as part of a truce agreement with Hamas in Gaza. Horn, the son of a journalist, was kidnapped along with his brother Eitan, 38 years old, who still remains in captivity.

Horn was transported by helicopter to a hospital accompanied by his mother, Ruti, and another brother, Amos. Although it was initially agreed that women, the wounded, and those over 55 years old would be the first to be released, the Forum of Families of Hostages and the Disappeared requested a release without phases and delays for all the abducted, as well as the bodies of the deceased.

Despite the releases, 70 hostages remain out of the 251 kidnapped on October 7, 2023, and at least 34 of them have died, according to information from the Israeli Army. In response to the news of his release, Horn showed caution and stated: 'I will believe it when I see them get into the Red Cross white jeep.'

Horn is believed to have received priority on the release list due to being diabetic. In a message to his brother Eitan, still kidnapped, Horn stated: 'Eitan, you are next.' Images shared by authorities showed Horn holding a board with this message to his brother.

These releases occur within the framework of agreements for the exchange of Palestinian prisoners. For his part, the father of the kidnapped brothers, Itzik, had previously expressed his concern for the condition of his children.
