Israel continues negotiations for the release of hostages taken on October 7, 2023, with families urging a swift resolution. Among them is Iair Horn, recently freed, who expresses hope for his brother's return.

Negotiations for Hostage Release Intensify

A 46-year-old man named Iair Horn was airlifted to a hospital in an incident related to a kidnapping. Also on the helicopter were his mother, Ruti, and another brother, Amos. Iair Horn is the son of a journalist and was kidnapped along with his brother Eitan, who is 38 years old and was not on the list of hostages to be released at that time.

Hostages are being released in batches, and it was originally agreed that women, the injured, and people over 55 years old would be the first to be released. However, the Hostage and Missing Families Forum requested a new agreement to release all hostages and the bodies of the deceased without delay.

Despite the releases that have taken place, 70 hostages remain in Gaza out of the 251 kidnapped on October 7, 2023, and at least 34 of them have died according to the Israeli Army. Following the news of an upcoming release, Iair showed caution and expressed that he would believe it when he sees the hostages getting into the white Red Cross jeep.

Iair Horn, of Argentine origin, sent a message to his brother Eitan, who is still kidnapped, after being released along with two other hostages as part of the truce agreement with Hamas: 'Eitan, you are next.' In images shared by the authorities, Iair was seen holding a board with this message directed at his brother.

These events are taking place in the context of agreements for the exchange of Palestinian prisoners. On the other hand, the brothers' father, Itzik, had previously expressed his concern about the condition of his children.
