The Israeli military has charged a soldier in the killing of a 16-year-old Palestinian boy, which occurred last year in the West Bank. According to the indictment, the soldier shot the boy in the chest without necessity or permission.
Currently, the soldier is under house arrest, following the emergence of video evidence allowing the tracing of events leading up to the killing. The footage shows that the Palestinian boy did not pose a threat to the soldier who killed him.
In his defense, the soldier denies the charges and claims he was acting in accordance with military rules of engagement.
