Israel plans to release tomorrow, on Saturday, about 800 Palestinian detainees in exchange for 6 living and dead Israelis, who were in captivity. The release was announced on Thursday, after which the relatives of the Palestinians began to gather at the central prison Ofir in Jerusalem, where the release is planned.
One of the released will be Dayan Nadali, who had been sentenced to life imprisonment for attacks. He and several other detainees will be sent home to the northern part of the West Bank of the Jordan River.
"This release of Palestinians from prison - is a success and a victory," said Zakaria Zubeidi, a senior official in the Organization for the Liberation of Palestine, which represents East Jerusalem and the West Bank.
The exchange of detainees will be the most significant since 2011 and one of the largest in the history of Israeli-Palestinian conflicts.
