The family of Shiri Bibas and her children, Ariel and Kfir, was captured on October 7 in Israel and held in Gaza. This Saturday, they requested the media not to state that they were killed by Hamas, as there is no official confirmation regarding the circumstances of their deaths.
In a statement issued by the Forum of Families of Hostages and the Missing, they expressed that they prefer the dissemination of details about the alleged murder of Shiri and the children by their captors to stop. Yarden Bibas, Shiri's husband and the children's father, along with the rest of the family, only wishes to make it known that this was a murder, without going into details.
Since November 2023, when the al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, announced the death of the three family members, it is claimed that they died due to an Israeli airstrike in Gaza, a version that remains valid to this day.
On the other hand, the spokesperson for the Israeli Army, Daniel Hagari, stated on Friday that the children were killed "by their own hands" by their captors, according to a preliminary forensic analysis, although no evidence has been presented. It is mentioned that autopsies could take days to complete, according to Israeli sources.
In the absence of official confirmation, the Bibas family insisted that any publication with details about what happened or the treatment of the bodies goes against their wishes and adds profound pain at this moment.
