Israel Conducts Airstrikes on Hezbollah Sites

The Israeli army carried out airstrikes against border crossings between Syria and Lebanon, accusing Hezbollah of using those routes for smuggling weapons to Beirut. According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), these crossings are exploited by Hezbollah in its attempts to transfer arms illegally, which they see as a flagrant violation of the ceasefire agreements between Israel and Lebanon in effect since November 27, 2024.

Although no casualties or damage have been reported so far, the sites targeted have been described by Israel as historically significant locations for the alleged arms transfers from Hezbollah to Lebanon. There have been no immediate official statements from Syrian or Lebanese authorities, nor from Hezbollah.

The IDF pledged to continue operating to neutralize threats against Israel and prevent Hezbollah, which they consider a "terrorist organization," from rebuilding its military capabilities. According to the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, Israeli airstrikes hit targets in the Qalamoun region, near the border between Syria and Lebanon.
