Family Tragedy in Gaza: The Death of Shiri Bibas and Her Children

A woman and her two children were reported dead in an Israeli bombing in Gaza in November 2023 according to a Palestinian terrorist group. However, the National Institute of Forensic Medicine denied this claim after revealing that the autopsy of the bodies showed no signs of injuries caused by bombings.

The director of the institute, Chen Kugel, stated that after identifying Shiri Bibas and her children Ariel and Kfir, no evidence of bombing injuries was found. On the other hand, the Israeli army claimed that the three were killed by terrorists, stating that the children were brutally murdered cold-blooded.

The three – Shiri Bibas and her children Ariel (4 years old) and Kfir (8 and a half months) – were kidnapped in the kibbutz Nir Ozel on October 7th last year by Hamas. Hamas handed over the bodies on Thursday and Friday due to a ceasefire agreement, claiming that they did not shoot the children but killed them with their own hands.

The Bibas family described these deaths as murder and requested discretion regarding the details of what occurred. The victims are expected to be buried on Wednesday the 26th in a private ceremony. The family opened the possibility for those who wish to pay their respects to accompany their funeral caravan in a statement released on behalf of Yarden Bibas, Shiri's husband, and her sister-in-law Dana Siton Silberman.
