A delegation of movement leaders emphasized their stance on the need for a clear commitment to all provisions of the agreement. According to the statement, Israel announced on Sunday that it was postponing the release of Palestinian prisoners that were supposed to be exchanged on Saturday, awaiting the release of more hostages.
More than 600 Palestinian prisoners were expected to be released on Saturday after Hamas released six hostages. However, the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu communicated that the release was delayed "until ensuring the release of the following hostages, without embarrassing ceremonies."
Hamas reported that an agreement was reached to resolve the issue of the delay in the release of Palestinian prisoners. These would be released simultaneously with the bodies of Israeli hostages, whose delivery was scheduled in the first stage of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
The Hamas leaders' delegation concluded a visit to Cairo, where they met with Egyptian officials. According to the statement, the implementation of the ceasefire agreement, the exchange of prisoners, and the prospects for the second phase of negotiations were addressed.
