The Palestinian organization Hamas stated on Saturday that there are "positive indicators" for the continuation of the truce with Israel in the Gaza sector. Speaking about the current state of affairs, a Hamas representative emphasized that there is a readiness to continue the truce, but stressed that now Israel must address the issue of lifting the blockade of Gaza and expanding the fishing zone.
"There are a number of positive indicators related to the struggle for Palestinian rights and the unity of our people," he noted, emphasizing the importance of lifting the blockade to ensure people’s normal living conditions. Hamas expressed readiness for further dialogue with the Israeli side, provided that it fulfills its obligations.
After an escalation of hostilities between Israeli armed forces and Hamas militants earlier in May of this year, the sides reached an agreement on a truce. However, both sides continue to call for further negotiations to ensure stability and improve the humanitarian situation in the region.
