Israel announced on Friday that the Hamas movement "has not budged even a millimeter" in negotiations over a truce in the Gaza sector.
According to a representative of the Israeli government, the negotiations are being delayed due to Hamas's unwillingness to concede on key issues. In particular, Israeli authorities insist that it is the humanitarian organizations, not Hamas, that should control the aid flow in Gaza to ensure that it is not used for military purposes.
A political analyst noted that this situation indicates the complexities in reaching an agreement between the parties, as Hamas sets its conditions. Meanwhile, the German Foreign Minister called for an end to the fire in Gaza, condemning the rocket attacks on Israel and expressing deep sorrow over the deaths of children.
"We hope that, despite the pressure exerted by European partners, this can be achieved," added the political expert.
