Efforts to secure the return of our hostages continue and will not cease until the last hostage is returned, they added. Excluding the two most recent cases, Hamas has handed over the remains of 15 of the 28 deceased hostages it agreed to return as part of the recently declared ceasefire agreement. On Tuesday, Israel reported that the remains handed over by Hamas the previous night were parts of a body belonging to a hostage whose remains had already been recovered by the Israeli army two years ago. Israel received the remains of two other hostages killed in the Gaza Strip this Friday through the International Committee of the Red Cross, according to separate statements from the Prime Minister's Office and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). The bodies were transferred to the IDF and the Shin Bet security agency before being taken to the National Center of Forensic Medicine in Tel Aviv for identification. Once that process is completed, the families of the deceased will be notified.
