Israeli Army Continues Destroying Homes in Gaza

The Israeli army continues to destroy residential buildings in areas under its control in both the south and north of the Gaza Strip, local sources confirmed on Sunday, despite the ceasefire in effect since October 10. The explosions heard early Sunday morning were due to demolition operations carried out by Israeli forces in the city of Fukhari, east of Khan Yunis in southern Gaza, a source in the area told EFE. In addition, military excavators also destroyed homes in the city of Gaza, in the Zeitun and Shujaiya neighborhoods, according to the Palestinian Wafa agency, which witnessed columns of smoke rising from the attacked areas. According to the agency, artillery shelling and Israeli gunfire also occurred in Khan Yunis amid the building demolitions. EFE cannot independently verify what happened, as no Gazan can approach or cross the 'Yellow Line'. The so-called 'Yellow Line', where Israeli troops have partially withdrawn as part of the ceasefire agreement, isolates entire Palestinian cities in the north of the Gaza Strip, such as Beit Hanoun, Beit Lahia, and Jabalia, as well as Rafah and Abasan al-Kabira in the south, among others. No Gazan can approach these areas at the risk of being shot by troops without prior warning. Since the start of the ceasefire, Israel has killed 226 Gazans and injured nearly 600.
