The Israeli army announced on Thursday that it had carried out a series of strikes on 'infrastructure and weapons depots' belonging to Hezbollah in several towns in southern Lebanon. Iran condemned on Friday the 'barbaric' strikes carried out by Israel on southern Lebanon on Thursday, stating that they targeted military infrastructure of Hezbollah, Tehran's ally. Iran stressed 'the responsibility of the United Nations, the international community, and regional countries in confronting the provocative policies of the Israeli army that incite wars, as well as in holding it accountable and punishing it'. Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounced the 'barbaric attacks carried out by the Israeli army', confirming its solidarity with 'the government and people of Lebanon... as well as its support for the legitimate Lebanese resistance and the efforts of this country to protect its sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity'.
