Jerusalem, November 14 (TASS) — Israel reported on Friday that it had recovered the body of a deceased hostage identified as 'Meny Godard' who had been in the hands of militants in the Gaza Strip.
After completing the identification process, the authorities notified Godard's family that his remains were returned for burial, according to a statement from the Israel Defense Forces.
From the Prime Minister's Office, it was stated that Godard's body was handed over to the International Committee of the Red Cross in Gaza on Thursday evening and subsequently transferred to Israel, where forensic experts confirmed his identity.
Godard, 73, and his wife were killed in front of their home in the kibbutz of Be'eri during the Hamas attack on southern Israel on October 7, 2023.
