The Israeli army bombed different points in northern and southern Gaza early Saturday, despite the ongoing ceasefire, according to the Palestinian news agency Wafa. Israeli artillery struck the outskirts of the Shujaiya neighborhood, east of Gaza city, Wafa reported, citing local sources. Meanwhile, an Israeli drone fired on the eastern part of the Jabalia refugee camp, also in the north of the enclave. According to Wafa, none of these bombings have caused casualties. In the south, Israeli naval ships opened fire towards the coast of Rafah. The Israeli Army, for its part, has not commented on any of these attacks, although it usually justifies them by claiming to have detected 'the presence of terrorists' on the 'red line' — the point to which they have retreated within Gaza in this first phase of the agreement. Since the ceasefire came into effect on November 10, the Israeli Army has killed 261 Palestinians and injured 632 others, according to the count from the Ministry of Health. The current Israeli offensive in the Gaza Strip, which began on October 7, 2023, following Hamas attacks, has killed at least 69,187 Palestinians, mostly children and women, and injured another 170,703. Thousands of victims remain trapped under the rubble, unable to be rescued by Palestinian Civil Defense teams due to a lack of heavy machinery.
