Israel Strikes Gaza: Elimination of Hamas Commander

The Israeli army reported carrying out a targeted attack against a high-ranking Hamas militant commander in the city of Gaza. The operation was coordinated with the Shin Bet security service, according to a statement from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). Israeli state television, Kan TV, identified the probable target, allegedly killed in the attack, as Ra'ad Sa'ad, a founding figure of the Al-Qassam Brigades (the armed wing of Hamas) and head of the production headquarters, key in the internal manufacturing of rockets, missiles, and anti-tank weaponry. Israel had previously failed in its attempts to eliminate Sa'ad. Palestinian medical sources and eyewitnesses confirmed that an Israeli drone attacked a vehicle traveling near the Nabulsi junction, on Rashid Street, in the western part of Gaza City. The attack killed four people and injured several others. A Hamas source, speaking on condition of anonymity, stated that the main target inside the vehicle was indeed a high-ranking militant commander. Meanwhile, the IDF reported identifying two 'militants' who crossed the so-called 'yellow line'—the area of the Palestinian enclave from which Israeli troops have not withdrawn—managing to neutralize one of them on Friday. The official Palestinian news agency WAFA also reported that Muhammad Sabri Al-Adham, a 19-year-old Palestinian, was killed by Israeli army fire this morning in Jabalia, in northern Gaza. The offensive comes despite the recent ceasefire agreed upon between Israel and Hamas, which took effect in October. According to Gazan health authorities, since the start of the truce, Israel has continued its attacks in Gaza, resulting in the deaths of more than 380 people and over 1,000 injured.
