Israel's far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has ordered the Israel Prison Service to study the option of building a crocodile-surrounded prison to combat prison escapes, despite existing strict security measures. Israeli media reported that prison service officers visited a crocodile farm in Hamat Gader for what they called an 'educational tour' to learn about crocodile care, feeding, and safety protocols. The cost of a small crocodile is estimated at around $8,000, while an adult one costs about $20,000, which means the proposal will be studied within the available budget.
