UN Chief Calls on Israel and Hezbollah for Dialogue

Buenos Aires, March 14 (NA) -- United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has called on Israel and Hezbollah to resort to dialogue and available diplomatic channels. According to the Argentine News Agency, Guterres warned this Saturday in Beirut that there is no military solution to the current conflict between the terrorist organization and the Middle Eastern country. "Only diplomacy, dialogue, and the full implementation of the UN Charter and the Security Council resolutions," he stated during a press conference. The UN Secretary-General recalled the existence of various diplomatic avenues available to the parties and also emphasized that the population of Lebanon did not choose to be part of this outbreak of violence, which began after Hezbollah attacked northern Israel on March 2, and this responded with the launch of an intense air offensive. "My message to the belligerent parties is clear: stop the fighting, stop the bombings, there is no military solution."
