Israeli Forces Kill Palestinian Family in West Bank

Israeli forces carried out an extrajudicial execution in the occupied West Bank, which is a continuation of genocide. It was a horrendous arbitrary execution directed against an entire Palestinian family inside their vehicle, the text states, denouncing systematic impunity. The Israeli military prosecution rarely investigates or prosecutes any uniformed for violent attacks or causing the death of Palestinian civilians in the West Bank or Gaza. In one of the few known cases since October 7th, where five reservists were accused of sexually abusing a Gazan in the infamous Sde Teiman prison, the case was dismissed this Thursday without charges. The Israeli Minister of Defense, Israel Katz, stated in a post on X that the role of the Army's judicial system is to 'protect and safeguard soldiers,' not to defend the rights of 'terrorists.' The Palestinian family this morning consisted of Ali Bani Odeh (the father, 37), Waad Bani Odeh (the mother, 35), and their children Mohamed Bani Odeh, 5, and Ozman Bani Odeh, 7. Two other sons, Mustafa and Khaled (8 and 10 years old), were the only survivors of this armed attack. The Israeli Police acknowledged on Sunday in a joint statement with the Army that their forces had opened fire on their car after feeling threatened, a frequent claim in these types of attacks. Around 2:00 a.m. local time (00:00 GMT), the Palestinian Red Crescent denounced that the Israeli Army prevented its ambulances from accessing the attack site for over half an hour. The number of Palestinians killed by Israeli fire in the occupied West Bank has reached 13 since the start of the war against Iran on February 28th, according to the human rights NGO B'Tselem, surpassing the total number of deaths from this war on Israeli soil (12 to date). The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the United Nations to act on Sunday, after Israeli forces killed four members of the same family (father, mother, and two children) by opening fire on their car in the city of Tamun (northern occupied West Bank).
