The Israeli Army announced on Monday that it destroyed a plane used by former Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei at Mehrabad Airport in Tehran. The Army explained that the plane was used by senior Iranian officials and military figures for travel within and outside Iran, and to coordinate with allied countries. Mehrabad is one of Tehran's oldest airports and currently serves domestic and regional flights. In addition to being the most congested civilian airport, it is also a dual-use facility that includes assets belonging to the Air Force.
