Israeli Colonists Push for New Settlements in Gaza

Israeli settlers, led by radical groups, rally for the re-establishment of settlements in Gaza amid ongoing military operations against Palestinians. The call for 'voluntary migration' of Palestinians is controversial and highlights the deepening conflict. Amid violence and humanitarian crises, the push for new colonies raises tensions further.

The Palestinian militant group Hamas was founded in 1987 in response to the occupation. Recently, Yair Maoz, along with other families of far-right Israeli settlers, joined an event organized by the radical group Nachala, led by settler Daniella Weiss, to promote the expansion of settlements, deemed illegal under international law, also in Gaza.

The Israeli Minister of National Security has expressed support for intensifying attacks in Gaza. Amid the escalation of Israeli violence in northern Gaza, with attacks on UN schools, hospitals, and Palestinian refugee camps, tens of thousands of people have been put at risk, and access to essential goods, including water, has been restricted.

Despite the ongoing war in Gaza for the past year, with daily bombings and executions of Palestinians, the violence in the north of the enclave is now highlighted. Israeli settlers demand to re-establish settlements in Gaza, arguing that it is their land and their right to remain there.

Daniella Weiss, former mayor of an Israeli settlement, advocates for the return of Israelis to Gaza as a beneficial measure for the United States and Europe, in addition to pointing out that this would end Hamas's presence in the Strip. Israel proposed the creation of six settlements in different areas of Gaza, which is predominantly inhabited by Palestinians.

The Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, has suggested the possibility of promoting new settlements in Gaza and encouraging the emigration of Palestinians as an ethical solution to the conflict. The violent situation in Gaza has been mentioned, where Israeli military operations have affected a large number of people and resulted in numerous casualties.

The situation in Gaza remains tense, with proposals from Israeli settlers to re-establish settlements in the Strip and expel Palestinians. Ben Gvir has insisted on Israel's claim to those lands, suggesting the voluntary migration of Palestinians as the most suitable solution.
