According to Israeli Channel 12, five people were killed in a rocket attack by the Palestinian group Hamas in the town of Metula in northern Israel on Thursday.
Among the deceased are residents of Metula and four foreigners who were vacationing in the area by car. Preliminary information suggests that the car caught fire as a result of the attack, and people inside were fatally injured.
Witnesses reported seeing smoke rising above the vehicle after the attack. Rescuers and police rushed to the scene to provide assistance to the injured.
Israel responded to the attack with artillery fire.
