Israel Opens New Humanitarian Aid Crossing to Gaza

On Tuesday, the Israeli army announced the opening of a new passageway for humanitarian aid deliveries into the Gaza sector following pressure from the United States.

This decision was made after a three-day delay in the movement of humanitarian supplies due to the closure of the only passageway that was controlled by the Palestinian Authority.

A statement from the Israeli army press service reads: "The passageway will be opened for the delivery of humanitarian aid and goods into Palestinian territories, which are managed and controlled by the Palestinian Authority."

An official rejection from the Palestinian side of loyalty to Israel and the USA brought about a worsening of the situation at the border. In response, the Israeli Prime Minister stated the readiness to respond with a decisive strike to rocket attacks in retaliation for blockades from the Gaza sector.

The Palestinian Authority pointedly accused Israel of violating human rights and international law due to the blockade and restrictions on goods and services provided in the Gaza sector.

Israel, in turn, noted that it is prepared to ease conditions and ensure access to humanitarian aid under the condition of safety for its citizens and the prevention of arms smuggling to terrorists.
