The leaders of the UN issued a decision stating that Israel's actions during the war in the Gaza sector can be equated to the characteristics of genocide. In connection with this, a special commission was formed to conduct investigations. The commission stated that Israel applied tactics that could be classified as actions aimed directly at the extermination of a certain group of people.
One of the statements containing this assessment was the commission's declaration that there is "a basis to suggest that there may be elements of a systematic effort aimed at the total destruction of part of the Palestinian population."
Citing the report of the commission, it can be noted that facts of "violations of human rights and breaches of international humanitarian law were uncovered, which could represent a significant breach in relation to humanity."
