The Israeli army intends to manage security in the Gaza sector without military rule, controlling crossings.
According to a statement from a senior source in the army, this decision is part of a strategy to strengthen the capabilities to prevent attacks on Israelis and target groups on the border. In particular, the army plans to intercept the contraband of weapons and other materials that flow into the sector through underground tunnels.
"We do not want to manage the lives of people in the Gaza sector, but we cannot allow them to strengthen and arm the sector," the source stated.
This decision aims to contribute to stability at the border between Israel and the Gaza sector.
