Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu insisted during a press conference with foreign journalists in his Jerusalem office on Thursday that he did not 'drag' U.S. President Donald Trump into war with Iran and asserted: 'Does anyone really believe I can tell Trump what to do?'.
The Israeli leader also confirmed that it was President Trump who asked him during his visit last month at his Mar-a-Lago mansion in Florida to ensure that Iran does not have nuclear bombs. 'He told me: 'Bibi, we have to make sure Iran doesn't have nuclear bombs,' he emphasized, adding that since the start of the offensive, he 'regularly speaks with Trump,' who insisted, 'makes his own decisions.'
'America (the United States) is not fighting for Israel, it is fighting alongside Israel,' stated the Hebrew leader, who added that both countries have 'the same goal' in this military campaign against the Islamic republic.

This Tuesday, the director of the U.S. National Counterterrorism Center, Joe Kent, resigned from his post before Trump in protest of the war his country and Israel are waging against Iran.
'I cannot, in good conscience, support the war being waged in Iran,' Kent wrote in a letter addressed to the U.S. president.
'Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is evident that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful 'U.S. lobby',' wrote Kent in his letter to the U.S. president.
In his letter, the American veteran accused high-ranking Israeli officials of having 'waged a disinformation campaign' to push for the offensive against Iran, 'the same tactic the Israelis used' to drag the United States into the 'disastrous Iraq War.'
In these twenty days of war, Iranian attacks have caused the death of fifteen people in Israeli territory and four women, two of them pregnant, in the West Bank, occupied Palestinian territory.
