Present at the ceremony were Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and the Chief of Staff of the Israeli Defense Forces, Herzi Halevi. Recent conflicts, such as the war in Gaza and clashes with Hezbollah in Lebanon, have altered the relationship between Iran and Israel, challenging ancient taboos.
Netanyahu mentioned that Israel has been attacked by Iran on several occasions and that Israel has also directly responded to Iran.
