At least four people were injured in northern Israel after Hezbollah launched a barrage of rockets and drones on Monday afternoon, according to Israel's emergency response service, Magen David Adom (MDA). One projectile hit the city of Nahariya on Israel's coast, just a few kilometers south of the border with Lebanon. Three people were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation, MDA said, citing CNN and Noticias Argentinas. The Israeli army said the damage was likely the result of a direct impact, not a failed interceptor missile that fell back to earth. Elsewhere, a man in his 40s was in light to moderate condition as a result of the explosion, MDA said. Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the attack. The Iran-backed Islamist group said in a statement that it launched rockets and drones at Nahariya. The Israeli Home Front Command responded to provide assistance to civilians, the army said. Meanwhile, the chief of the Israeli army's general staff reported that more than 400 Hezbollah members have died since the start of the offensive, according to the newspaper Le Monde. "The Israeli army is waging a determined campaign against Hezbollah, during which more than 400 terrorists have been eliminated to date, including senior members of the organization," said its Chief of Staff, General Eyal Zamir, on Monday during a visit to the Northern Command. "We are determined to intensify the operation until we achieve all our objectives. At the same time, we are reinforcing our defenses and increasing the personnel of the Northern Command. Hezbollah is currently fighting for its survival; it is paying a heavy price for entering the war and the pressure it is under will only increase," he stated, specifying that the "limited and selective ground operations" announced this morning in southern Lebanon had begun two weeks ago. An MDA video showed flames coming out of a heavily damaged building and a destroyed car.
Four Injured in Hezbollah Rocket Attack on Israeli City of Nahariya
On Monday, Hezbollah launched rockets and drones at the Israeli city of Nahariya, injuring four people. A direct hit on a building caused significant damage and led to smoke inhalation injuries. The Israeli military confirmed it was a direct strike and not a failed interception. The group claimed responsibility, signaling an escalation. In response, Israeli forces reinforced defenses and initiated selective ground operations in southern Lebanon, reporting over 400 Hezbollah militants have been eliminated since the start of the offensive.
