Israel plans to restrict control over the distribution of humanitarian aid in the Gaza sector. This decision has raised concerns among human rights advocates and residents of the Palestinian territories.
"Israel intends to limit the access of organizations that provide assistance to civilians in Gaza and block the transfer of humanitarian aid across the border," the country’s authorities reported.
Representatives of the United Nations and other humanitarian organizations emphasized that such actions could seriously worsen the humanitarian situation in the region.
"Restrictions imposed by Israel will have catastrophic consequences for the residents of the Gaza sector who depend on assistance," the UN stated.
This decision by Israel has been criticized for creating obstacles to the use of humanitarian aid, the authorities assert. However, many experts and human rights advocates warn that victims of such measures will become innocent civilians in need of assistance.
