The United Nations Human Rights Office stated on Tuesday that Israeli airstrikes on residential buildings and displaced persons' camps have resulted in numerous civilian casualties. These attacks constitute a gross violation of international humanitarian law and the right to life. The UN calls for an immediate end to the violence and for the protection of civilians to be ensured.
According to the Office, the airstrikes have completely destroyed residential neighborhoods where families displaced by the fighting were taking shelter. Israeli authorities have not yet commented on these allegations.
