Israel carries out strikes on Iran in response to attacks
Israel announced on Saturday morning that it is conducting "targeted strikes" on military sites in Iran following a month of unceasing attacks by the Iranian regime against the Israeli state, including more than 180 rockets fired since October 1 against the Jewish state. "In response to a month's continuous attacks by the Iranian regime against the state of Israel, at present the Israeli armed forces are carrying out precise strikes on military sites in Iran," confirmed the commander of the Israeli army, Daniel Hagari.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu congratulated the IDF of Israel after the attack on Iran, noting that "achievements and goals are very important for ensuring the security of the state of Israel and protecting its citizens." After Israel's strike on Iran, at least four Iranian military personnel were reported killed. There have been reports of powerful explosions in Tehran.
The International Atomic Energy Organization confirmed that Israeli bombings on military sites did not hit Iran's nuclear facilities. Israel stated that all "hostile forces" had been destroyed. The leader of the opposition, Yair Lapid, also congratulated the IDF, but criticized the government for lacking a more decisive response.
The Spanish government called for "restraint" from both sides and urged to "stop escalation" in the Middle East after Israeli attacks on military targets in Iran. The Minister of Foreign Affairs also expressed gratitude for the investigative activities of the U.S.
Iranian President Abbbas Araqchi stated that the country "has no limits" to protect its interests and territorial integrity after the Israeli attack. Israeli soldiers dismantled a huge Hezbollah base in southern Lebanon, where weapons, including missiles and rockets, were stored. The prior act of aggression by Iran occurred on October 1, when Tehran fired more than 180 ballistic missiles.
