The Israeli newspaper "Haaretz" published photographs from satellites that show that the Israeli army has begun the construction of a new settlement on the western shore. According to the newspaper, the photos depict cleared houses, roads, and infrastructure, already ready for utilization. The area where construction began consists of about 30 plots and has been declared a military zone with the aim of preventing additional encroachment and the growth of Palestinian trees in this area. Official statements or comments from the Israeli military regarding this new settlement have yet to be issued, although plans for its construction have long been known. The head of the municipality in the area where the new settlement is being established refused to comment on the situation. According to reports from the United Nations Organization, such actions are illegal and violate the resolution of the Security Council of the UN.
