The Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, stated this Saturday that “the campaign is not yet over” during a press conference addressing the war in the Middle East, held as the United States and Iran negotiate a peace agreement in Islamabad. The Israeli Prime Minister noted that Israel has achieved “historic accomplishments” against Iran, although he acknowledged that there is still “much to be done” against the Islamic Republic and the militias that support it in the region. Netanyahu asserted that the country went to war because Iran was “very close to obtaining the nuclear weapon,” a claim he had made when Israel began the escalation in June 2025, and defended his actions by stating that he has prevented it through these two military campaigns. “We have succeeded in crushing their nuclear program, in crushing their missile program,” affirmed Netanyahu, who also claimed that Israel has killed the twelve top Iranian nuclear scientists. In various statements throughout this latest war, the Israeli armed forces stated that they launched the offensive on February 28 (and not in the summer, as planned) due to the possibility of killing Iran's supreme leader, Ali Khamenei. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, this evening: “Dear citizens of Israel, my brothers and sisters, the campaign is not yet over, but even now it can be clearly stated – we have achieved historic accomplishments.” Netanyahu spoke in front of a map showing Iran in red and the territories where its allied militias are located: the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, the Shia groups in Syria, the Houthis in Yemen, Hezbollah in Lebanon, and Hamas in Gaza. Many other countries, both in the Middle East and other regions, are resorting to cooperation and alliances. The map excluded the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, incorporating it into Israel. Regarding them, the Israeli Prime Minister boasted of the “security zones” created by his Army in Syria, Lebanon, and the Gaza Strip, referring to the perimeters it militarily occupies in these territories, citing security reasons for Israel. He promised to “deal with” Hamas in Gaza and asserted that Israel continues to fight against Hezbollah. Although Pakistan announced that Lebanon is included in the ceasefire with Iran, Netanyahu denies it, and the Israeli armed forces have continued to bomb it. He also announced that the Israeli Army has destroyed a warehouse containing 150,000 missiles and rockets from Hezbollah in Lebanon. Regarding the negotiations with Lebanon to cease attacks, he stated that Israel imposes two conditions: the disarmament of Hezbollah and a “real peace agreement” that will last for generations. “It is not only Lebanon that is approaching us.”
